The UEFA Disciplinary Committee has opened an investigation into Fenerbahçe in the latest incident between the Turkish club and the European football governing body.

The club announced yesterday that Fenerbahçe is facing possible charges since some of its fans tried to enter a Europa League last-16 game against Viktoria Plzen with fake tickets.

Fenerbahçe said the club had warned the UEFA security commission members and Viktoria Plzen officials about the issue before the game. Fenerbahçe has been handed two UEFA bans this season.

The Yellow Canaries played BATE Borisov without spectators, but some fans managed to fire flares from outside the stadium.

UEFA ordered another one-match suspension to Fenerbahçe in response and decided to put the team on probation for the next two years and exclude it from participating in the next UEFA club competitions if a similar incident occurs in that period.
