Two Turkish women have been found dead in Lake Powell in the U.S. state of Utah, according to Utah-based news site ksl.com.

The 21-year-old women, who were identified as Betül Eryıldırım and Merve Tokel, had been working at a concession stand at a marina on Lake Powell for the summer.

Tokel’s floating body was first discovered on Aug. 8 by a boater; divers subsequently discovered Eryıldırım’s body yesterday evening.

The women had told friends that they were going to the beach for a few hours on Aug. 8.

"At this point, no foul play is expected," a local sheriff said. "But investigators are treating the incident as a homicide until it can be ruled out."

These two women were coworkers of mine and lived within 100 yards of me. I did not know Betul well, but a friend of mine worked directly alongside of her and really liked Betul. I interacted with Merve several times a day, though. She was fantastic-a very sweet and charming girl with a wonderful smile. Both women were hard workers and spoke English well, and both of them will be very missed at Bullfrog Marina. My coworkers are very sad, especially the Turks (about 12-15 people).
