Two rockets hit Turkey’s Kilis

Two Katyusha rockets fired from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)-controlled territory in Syria hit the southeastern border town of Kilis early on May 4. Several farm animals were killed and wounded while a number of buildings were damaged when the rockets hit the gardens of the Forest Management Directorate and the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Directorate.
Ambulances and fire department teams were sent to the area.
Security measures were increased after the attack.
The Turkish army responded by firing howitzers toward ISIL targets, reportedly destroying two ISIL Katyusha positions.
Turkish military sources claimed to have killed three ISIL militants.
Turkey has been hit by a series of rocket attacks originating from ISIL-held Syrian territory since mid-January. A total of 20 people have been killed and scores have been wounded by rockets fired at the border province since Jan. 18.
