Turkish TV station fined for sex scenes in Oliver Stone’s ‘Alexander’

The Supreme Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK) has fined a private broadcaster 50,000 Turkish Liras for airing suggestive scenes from Oliver Stone's famous “Alexander,” daily Akşam reported today.RTÜK fined the broadcaster for showing a scene in which he acts violently toward his wife, Roxane, and attempts to rape her, although the channel was also cited for some war scenes.
RTÜK said they had launched an investigation into the film following complaints.
"The movie has a negative impact on children and young adults,” the report read. “[The scenes] contain sexual violence against women, show a fight with a knife, slapping and an attempted rape after the [Roxane’s] rejection.”
“Sex scenes in between dialogue” were also found harmful by RTÜK.
