Turkish Twitter users voiced their frustration yesterday after an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) left eight security forces dead.

Twitter users wanting to express their discontent created the hashtag "#basbakananot" (Notice to the prime minister) and typed messages intended for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The hashtag rapidly spread and reached number three in worldwide trending. Users called on the prime minister to take effective and concrete steps to end PKK attacks.
