Turkish stage hosts Phan for first time

Tenor Nicholas Phan is expected to take the stage at Cemal Rşit Rey in Istanbul on Oc 23 and this will be his the first time Turkey hosts Phan in concert.

U.S. tenor Nicholas Phan is set to perform his first-ever concert in Turkey at Istanbul’s Cemal Reşit Rey Theater on Oct. 23. 

Named one of National Public Radio’s Favorite New Artists of 2011, Phan continues to distinguish himself as one of the most compelling young tenors appearing on the prestigious concert and opera stages of the world today.

This season, Phan will appear in concert with the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony and the Lucerne Symphony. Other concert appearances this season include performances at Carnegie Hall, the National Arts Center in Ottawa, and the Washington National Cathedral. He will also return to the Portland Opera as Fenton in “Falstaff” and will make his debut at the Bolshoi in a concert performance of Handel’s “Hercules.” 

Phan has appeared with many of the leading orchestras in the United States and Great Britain, including the BBC Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
