Turkish soldier killed in PKK attack in Diyarbakır

One soldier was killed on Nov. 25 in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attack in the Lice district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Security forces and PKK militants engaged in an armed conflict during an operation in the district.

One soldier was heavily wounded during clashes and transferred to the Selahaddin Eyyubi State Hospital in Diyarbakır. He later succumbed to his injuries despite all medical efforts.

The security forces’ operation to apprehend PKK militants in the region is ongoing.
