Turkish President Gül sends Christmas greetings

Turkish President Abdullah Gül released a Christmas message today. 

“I congratulate our Christian citizens’ Christmas with my deepest emotions. The air of generosity, solidarity and compassion in the Christmas undoubtedly signifies the common values that became a part of universal humanity heritage,” the statement read. 

“These values have also add richness and variety to the Anatolian geography, which has hosted people from different roots, beliefs and identities. It is in our benefit to carry this valuable heritage to the future with the spirit of mutual respect, love and tolerance,” he said. 

“With this understanding, I congratulate all of our citizens’ from different sects and traditions of Christianity and the whole Christian world’s Christmas, and wish happiness, success and health,” the message said.
