Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sat down with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in Ankara on Feb. 18, urging the Palestinian leader to continue the reconciliation process between his movement and Fatah without interruption, TRT has reported.

Mashaal briefed Erdoğan about the recent developments in the reconciliation process between the two Palestinian factions, which signed a deal in 2011 but never implemented the protocols.

The conflict between Hamas and Fatah has yet to be settled due to disagreements over power distribution in any potential national coalition government that would be formed, as well as the status of Gaza, which is currently under the control of Hamas.

On the other hand, Israel and Hamas have recently been holding indirect talks on easing the blockade on the Palestinian enclave under the terms of a truce deal reached last year, Channel 2 television reported on Feb. 15.

"Wonder how long Turkey will be in NATO". For a very long time, ebby m. Turkey brings to NATO some unique and valuable capabilities and attributes which no other member can bring.

Erdogan crossed the red line by supporting terrorism. His hate of Israel is obvious. Wonder how long Turkey will be in NATO

And no one is thinking about the bid to host the next Olympics. Doesn't RTE know that the whole World is watching and taking notes. If you sleep with dogs you will end up with fleas. If you give these people the impression that your country is a safe haven, then if won't be long before stuff starts to blow up, other than the US embassy. What is next? A Taliban convention? Spot on VARGEN VARGEN The esteemed PM always knows better?

Lets be honest, Hamas brutality pales next to Israelis. Hamas did not murder unarmed Turkish citizens and Turkey does not recognize Hamas a terrorist organization, maybe they should, but thats a different topic. Erdogan's government engages PKK and Ocalan in search of peace, why not Hamas? People should get off their high horses, talking is not support. They do have a legitimate base. It is called democracy! Remember?

PLO attacked Israeli during the 1972 Olympic Games. Hamas is far worse and brutal with their genocidal humbug. And Turkey supports not only these terrorists but embraces them too. Especially when on Jihad. Do you think Turkey has a chance on OG2020? With this mindset they don't have even a future. Ignorance is bliz here: talking what their bosses tell them to say. Hatemongers die of hate

Return the Caliphate and confront the crusade I say . Turkey can and will meet any leader especially Hamas a legitimate resistance to the illegal UN condemed occupation of their land. What just because they resist occupation with arms you label them terrorists? What a joke lets occupy New York or London and see what the locals would do. Israel the expiry date on your illegal settlement in the Middle East is fat approaching!

Congratulations to Mr Erdogan for meeting the leader of the Palestinian people's preferred party. As their land continues to be brutally colonized by American-backed Israel, with countless crimes against humanity, much the way America itself was colonized, native Palestinians will welcome this show of support from a strong Muslim neighbour.

im not defending this move but lets not forget EU is home to pkks terrorists, they finance their weapons via europe, all of this is known very well yet condoned by EU, former israel FM has publicly recommended to support and arm pkk, and if im not mistaken there was a report afew years back which said israel trains pkk terrorist in northern iraq, at leats erodoğan is honest in his support to hamas which in my opinion is wrong but he deserves the credit compared to countries that supports pkk :)

Hamas is an offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood where Morsi has taken over control. Hamas has been explicit in its Holocaust Denial. Hamas is on the black list of the EU and USA. What in hell the PM has to do with this terrorist? Maybe the sole fact that Hamas is against Israel?
