A 19-year-old man has killed his fiancée after learning that she was not a virgin during a trip to the western province of Sakarya.

The murderer, identified only as K.A., went to the district Police Department in Istanbul’s Beylikdüzü district on July 8 to confess that he had murdered his fiancée, N.T., and buried her in a Sakarya forest on July 6.

K.A. said he lost control after learning that N.T. was not a virgin.

“I lost control of myself when I learned she was not a virgin while we were taking a walk in the city forest. I don’t know what I did. My hands were covered in blood when I woke up. Then I ran away after digging a hole and burying her. I came to Istanbul. I confessed to the police after having nightmares for two days,” he reportedly stated in his testimony.

The woman’s body was found in the forest after a search by gendarmerie forces and a public prosecutor following K.A.’s directions.

The body has been sent for an autopsy.
