Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus carries 15 million passengers up to September

Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus carries 15 million passengers up to September

The number of passengers traveling with Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus rose to 15.02 million in the first nine months of this year, a 19.4 percent of increase from the same period last year, the company said in a written statement on Oct. 31.

The number of Pegasus passengers in domestic flights increased to 9.06 million with a 19.3 percent increase in the same period from the previous year, while passengers in foreign flights rose to 5.96 million with a 19.5 percent increase, said the written statement.

The total seat capacity of the airline reached 18.63 million by the end of September, while the airline’s passenger occupancy rate increased to 80.6 percent.

The total number of destinations increased from 71 to 86 compared to September 2013.

Pegasus is the second biggest carrier in the domestic market behind Turkish Airlines.
