It is time for the Syrian regime to change, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said while hitting hard at Israel’s Palestine policies in his speech at a session at the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Cairo on Feb. 4.

“The merciless dictatorship in Syria should go as quickly as possible and leave its place to a democratic transition. This is the only way to stop the ongoing violence and bring stability and confidence to the region,” the minister said.

“Our doors will always be open to our Syrian brothers. We are experiencing a large conscience test in the face of the crisis in Syria. The number of people who have died in Syria has reached 5,000 a month. In total 60,000 people have lost their lives. Some 4 million Syrians are waiting for help in the country.”

Davutoğlu also criticized Israel’s settlement policy. “Israel should put an end to its expansionist policy and accept the revival of the peace process,” he said. “A Palestinian state, the capital of which will be Jerusalem until the end of time, [should be formed] and Israel should withdraw back to its pre-1967 borders.”
After the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, or Third Arab-Israeli War between Israel and Egypt, Syria and Jordan, Israel had widened its territories.

The minister called the new Israeli settlements illegal, noting a United Nations Human Rights Commission decision on the subject.

Oh it's the genius of "0 problems with neighbors" guy... The crazy professor is indeed one of a kind. ebby M, spot on :-) It is easy to slam Israel, it is used to achieve personal gain. Iran, Russia, Syria government condemn Israel and says it proves that it is siding with the rebels. Opposing countries such as Turkey question the fact that Syria didn't respond and says that it proves that Israel is siding with Assad. Sadly there are enough of Jews/Israelis haters to believe both sides....

Fantastic speach,Turkey should be proud of Ahmed Davutoglu,Turkey leads others just follows.Israel has become a Pariah state he said in his speach.Which allso shows Turkey has "NO" intention of mending ties with Israel. This means Israel is frendless in the ME.

Israels foolish attack on Syria as backfired,it has united the Muslim world against a common enenmy in Israel. With Iran giveing away arms to match Israels military might.Israels advantage its airforce can now be shot down with Iranian missiles in the hands of Hezbollah. This was seen in Lebanon 2006 when fifty Israeli tanks were destroyed by Iranian weapons.First time all ME countries united against Israel includeing Turkey.Frendless and alone in the ME its only a matter of time for another war.

Israel should learn something from Turkey. Expel all Arabs from Israel just as Turkey did with Greek population from N. Cyprus and then scream loud every day at Turkey not to settle N. Cyprus.

Slamming Israel is easily done. Land for peace resulted only in more trouble both in Lebanon and in Gaza. Peace for land gave excellent results with Egypt and Jordan. Israel should, Israel should... Demanding actions from one side only leads to even more problems.
