A flamenco dance marathon will be held in Ankara’s 'Mavi Sahne.'

Ever since UNESCO recognized flamenco as a World Heritage Treasure in 2010, Nov. 16 has been celebrated as World Flamenco Day, and Ankara’s “Mavi Sahne” is set to organize the 2nd Flamenco Marathon on the same date this year.

During the marathon event, one of the most entertaining forms of flamenco dance, Sevillas, will be performed. The marathon will start on Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. and continue until the last dancer gives up.

The marathon, which all professional flamenco dancers and trainees can take part in, will be open to audiences, and those who want to dance in the event need to give their name to Mavi Sahne.

Sevillanas education will also be given during short breaks in the flamenco marathon.
