Turkish automotive sales rise 5.6 percent in September: Association

Turkish automotive sales rise 5.6 percent in September: Association Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose 5.6 percent in September to 67,593 units compared to the same month of 2015, the Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) said in a statement on Oct. 4.
Sales declined 4 percent in the first nine months of the year to 636,499 units, according to the statement. 

While car sales rose 9 percent in September to 51,340 units from the same months of 2015, light commercial vehicle sales contracted 4 percent to 16,253 units, ODD data showed. 

In this first nine months of the year, car sales declined 2.3 percent to 489,365 units and light commercial vehicle sales were also down 9.2 percent to 147,134 units. 

In a statement issued in June, the ODD announced its year-end market volume estimate at 950,000-1 million units.
