Turkish Airlines begins flights to Ivory Coast

Turkey’s national air carrier Turkish Airlines began flights to the Ivory Coast yesterday.

In a written statement released yesterday, Turkish Airlines said they conducted their first flight to Abidjan, Ivory Coast via Accra.

The national carrier will fly to Abidjan from Istanbul and vice versa on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Headquartered in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

The airline increased its sales revenue by 40 percent in 2011, compared to 2010 and recorded an operating profit of 339 million Turkish Liras ($185 million). Net profit came in at 19 million TL ($10.3 million).
