Turkish actress to be honored in Vatican

Turkish actress to be honored in Vatican Famous Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün, who is popular in the Arab world, will be presented with the Best Actress Award at the International Giuseppe Sciacca Awards in Vatican.

It was announced in a press statement that the actress will receive the award in the “Young Actresses” category of the cinema and theater field. 

The award ceremony will be held on Nov. 7 at the Urbaniana University in Vatican. 

According to the statement, Büyüküstün was seen worthy of the award for her acting talent as well as her charitable character. Many productions, in which the famous actress took part, found fame outside Turkish borders and gained much success abroad, said the statement. It also stated that last year she became the good will ambassador of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). 

Giuseppe Sciacca was an architecture student who died during a religious ceremony aged 26. His name was given to the organization for the award presented to successful young people under the age of 35 who gained success in the field of science and arts. 

In 2012, actor Murat Yıldırım received the Best Actor Award and in 2013, actor Burak Hakkı was invited to the event to present an award at the ceremony.
