The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the main opposition Republican’s People Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have issued a joint statement at Turkey’s parliament, saying they are “in full support” of the security forces in the fight against terrorism on Dec. 12, following twin bombings in Istanbul that killed 41 people.

“The terrorists will be destroyed and they will be held to account. We remark particularly that we share this deep pain, leaving aside all different political opinions,” read part of the statement, which did not include the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).

HDP lawmaker Meral Danış Beştaş read her party’s own statement, saying it was searching for “cooperation not dissolution.”
