The head of Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez will pay a visit to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate tomorrow.

The visit bears significance as it would be the first time a directorate head will visit the patriarchate in Istanbul.

The Hürriyet Daily News has learned that Görmez’s meeting will be a return visit to Greek Patriarch Bartholomew I after the patriarch earlier visited the head of the directorate.

If the secular and democratic Republic of Turkiye's Directorate of Religious Affairs is a democratic and secular organization, why then does its head dress as a Muslim imam??? Could anybody answer this. Remember secularism is the separation of religion and state, and democracy is nothing but equality and freeom of religion.
