Turkey’s foreign trade gap down by 21 pct

Turkey ran an $83.9 billion foreign trade deficit in 2012, down by 20.7 percent from a year earlier, the country’s statistics authority has said. The export to import ratio was up to 64.5 percent.

Turkey’s exports in 2012 were up 13.1 percent year-on-year, reaching $152.5 billion, while imports were down 1.8 percent year-on-year to $236.5 billion.
