Turkey’s envoy to Benin dies of heart attack: Minister
ANKARA
Turkish Ambassador to Cotonou Turgut Kural died of a heart attack late on April 17, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has announced through his Twitter account.
“We are deeply sorry. May God rest his soul. I offer my condolences to his family,” Çavuşoğlu wrote on April 18.
Kural, who joined the Foreign Ministry in 1991, had been serving as Turkey’s ambassador to Cotonou since 2014.
He was married with two children.
