Turkey's Changemakers: İsmail Gündüz continues to make a difference by establishing music classes in every school
İsmail Gündüz is now making a difference by establishing a music classroom for every school.
On June 22, 2012, Turkey’s Changemakers program hosted Büyükçekmece District Governor İsmail Gündüz. He first appeared as a guest on Turkey’s Changemakers program on Feb. 24, 2011.His aim was to use children’s talents and interests in music in order to encourage them to continue their education after elementary school.
Along with the student orchestra, İsmail Gündüz is now making a difference by establishing a music classroom for every school.
The orchestra, which initially started with 30 students, now hosts 130 students. With this project, Gündüz not only provides a platform where young people can spend quality time but also helps them discover their new talents. Gündüz first locates the school in which the music classroom is needed and then seeks a sponsor to cover the costs of the class and to buy the musical instruments.
