The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a warning to its citizens currently in Lebanon or planning to travel to Lebanon, urging them to be “vigilant.”

“As tension has recently erupted in Lebanon in relation to the environment of instability and conflict in Syria, required initiatives by local authorities are being taken in order to provide the security of our citizens and companies in this country,” the Foreign Ministry stated on Dec. 19.

“Within this framework, for our citizens travelling to and living in Lebanon, it is important to be cautious and vigilant,” the ministry said, also calling on citizens to follow probable upcoming warnings and announcements by both itself and the Turkish Embassy in Lebanon.
