Turkey will provide $106 million to Kyrgyzstan
for the its development.
In a ceremony held at the Kyrgyz Prime Ministry, Kyrgyz Finance Minister Akylbek Japarov and Turkey’s Ambassador to Bishkek
Nejat Akçal signed two agreements, whereby Turkey will provide a loan of $100 million and a donation of $6 million.
Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov was present at the ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Babanov said they were grateful to Turkish President Abdullah Gül, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
and the people of Turkey.
The financial support from Turkey is going to be used for social and economic projects, Babanov said, adding that the $100 million loan would be repaid to Turkey in 20 years.
Speaking to Anatolia news agency, Akçal also said the financial support extended to Kyrgyzstan
from Turkey would be used for the development of Kyrgyzstan.
