ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
One hundred foreign scientists will be employed in Turkey for two years to assist scientific development in the country with the support of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).

As part of the “2236 International Experienced Researcher Circulation Support Program,” developed by TÜBİTAK’s Scientist Support Department, 25 scientists will be employed in the first period of the project, daily Akşam reported. So far, 106 scientists and researchers have applied for the program, which aims to make Turkey an attractive center of work and research for scientists. The foreign scientists employed within this program will contribute to scientific programs conducted in Turkey.

TÜBİTAK will fund the employment of the foreign scientists in Turkey’s universities, both public and private. Within the first period of the program, 25 scientists will be employed. After the first elimination process, 66 applications remain.

Forty-four percent of the applicants are from the U.S., 45 percent from Europe and 11 percent from Asia, including Turkish scientists who are living abroad.
