Turkish athlete Burcu Ayhan launched her way into the high-jump finals at the London Olympics, providing a moment of national pride as the country is now set to compete in the high-jump finals for the first time ever.

Ayhan jumped 1.93 at her first attempt after previously clearing 1.90 meters on her second attempt.

The height was good enough to book Ayhan a place in the finals along with 13 others. The medal event will take place tomorrow.
