Turkey hails new Bosnia gov’t

Turkey has welcomed the formation of a new government in Bosnia-Herzegovina after political leaders approved cabinet composition.

“We welcome the approval of the composition of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers and the official formation of the sixth government of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the Chairmanship of Vyekoslav Bevanda,” Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement Feb. 10. Bakir Izetbegovich, Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, would pay a working visit to Turkey from Feb. 14 to 16, the statement also said. Izetbegovich is expected to hold talks and exchange views with Turkish President Abdullah Gül and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues, according to the statement. “Turkey attaches great importance to its relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina for lasting peace and stability in the Balkans, and acts with solidarity for the enhancement of the well-being and prosperity of the friendly and brotherly people of this country.”
