Turkey designs gold for Real Madrid club

Turkish jewelers have begun producing 24-carat gold medallions and coins with the logo of one of the world’s wealthiest football club, Real Madrid.The gold collection is now on sale at Spain’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
Real Madrid has signed a three-year agreement with Istanbul Altın Rafinerisi (İAR) for the production of 1-, 2-, 5-, 10-, 20-, 50- and 100-gram silver and 1-, 1.5-, 2-, 2.5-, 3-, 5-, 7.5- and 10-gram gold pieces to be sold in the second half of 2012 in Europe and the Middle East.
The gold and silver pieces will go on sale next year in China, a country with more Real Madrid supporters than Spain itself.
The collection will also be available for purchase on the Real Madrid official website, while there will also be limited and special addition pieces, according to Erman Dönmez, the general manager of IGR Global, İAR’s foreign trade company.
