Young Ozan Tufan scored a long-range shot in stoppage time to give Turkey a 2-1 win over Denmark in an international friendly game in Odense on Sept. 3.

Bursaspor’s 19-year-old midfielder scored from about 30 meters in the second minute of additional time, giving Turkey victory in only his fourth international appearance.

“I am very excited. I got very emotional after the goal,” said Tufan, who shed tears after scoring. “I still cannot get the goal out of my head. I can’t compare it to anything. I am very proud.”

Tufan’s goal capped a comeback from Turkey, who opened the scoring through Olcay Şahan in the 55th minute, after falling behind from Daniel Agger’s penalty in the 34th minute.

Tufan was brought on to replace Galatasaray playmaker Selçuk İnan in the 76th minute.

The game was a warm up to Turkey’s 2016 European Football Championship qualifying opening game against Iceland on Sept. 9.

Turkey will face Iceland, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Latvia and Kazakhstan in Group A of the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying groups, which will be hosted by France.
