Turk culture center to open in Rome

A new Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center working to promote Turkey, Turkish language, culture, art and history will open in the Italian capital of Rome.

Turkish Ambassador to Rome Hakki Akil said they had received permission for opening the center and that it was expected to open at the end of 2012.

The Yunus Emre Institute established under the Yunus Emre Foundation, conducts educational activities and scientific research and applications to meet the aims stipulated in the law. Among the institute’s activities is conducting research for the improved promotion and teaching of Turkish culture, history, language and literature, supporting scientific studies by cooperating with various organizations and informing the wider public with various publications of the results of such endeavors, all in accordance with the aims of its establishment.

The institute aims to contribute to the training of competent academicians and researchers in the fields of Turkish language, history, culture, art and music and attempts to provide training through certification programs.
