Tro Y Moi at Babylon
One of the masters of the new chillwave movement, Toro Y Moi will be in Istanbul for the first time on Jan. 16th in partnership with Radyo Eksen. Chaz Bundick, who goes by the moniker Toro Y Moi, jumped into the music scene with the well-known Columbia indie rock band The Heist and the Accomplice and has been crafting music of many forms since he began recording. Drawing from a wide range of influences like Animal Collective, Daft Punk and J Dilla, he released “Causers of This” on Carpark Records in 2010 and managed to create his own style with elements from pop, garage and electronic music. His creativity, energy and experimental side can be seen during live performances and his last album, “Underneath the Pine,” has been a dance floor pleaser. Chosen by Caribou to perform at the ATP Nightmare Before Christmas festival in addition to other programs across Europe and America, he comes to Istanbul’s Babylon on Jan. 16. Address: Şehbender Str.
