Bursa club TOFAŞ eliminated Anadolu Efes 3-1 in Turkish basketball league semifinals on the evening of June 2, advancing to the finals to play Fenerbahçe Doğuş.

“We are tired but happy. We are in the finals after a long time,” TOFAŞ head coach and Turkish basketball legend Orhun Ene told reporters after the match.

TOFAŞ advanced to Turkish basketball league finals after 18 years, when it won the league. The then-champion featured star players such as Mehmet Okur, David Rivers and Rashard Griffith.

The team’s opponent in the finals series will be Fenerbahçe Doğuş, which will be seeking its third league trophy in a row and fourth title in five seasons.

Fenerbahçe, which lost the Turkish Airlines Euroleague trophy to Real Madrid in the final on May 20, advanced to the finals after sweeping Banvit 3-0 in the semifinals, winning their last game 84-73 on June 1 in Istanbul.

Fenerbahçe finished the regular season atop the standings with 27 wins and three losses, winning all its 15 home games, while TOFAŞ was in the second spot with 24 wins.
