TOBB to represent Turkey at B-20 summit

The Union of Chamber and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) will represent the Turkish private sector at the Business World Summit (B-20) of “Group of 20” (G-20) countries.

The TOBB will attend the summit with more than 350 representatives from the Turkish business world, which will be held in the city of Los Cabos in Mexico on June 17 and 18, according to a statement made by the organization.

The first B-20 summit was organized in London in March 2009. The purpose of the summits is to benefit from the suggestions and views of country leaders, finance ministers and the business world, regarding the important economic and social issues that are on the agenda of the G-20. B-20 task forces for food security, green growth, employment, the fight against corruption, trade and investment, information and communication technologies and innovation, financing growth and development will gather at the upcoming summit.

The TOBB chairman Hisarcıklıoğu, who worked actively in the “Employment Working Group,” is expected to deliver important messages to G-20 leaders on employment.

He will also join Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who will attend the Trade and Investments meeting at the summit. Hisarcıklıoğlu will then hold high level talks during the B20 Summit, which will issue a communiqué at the end of the meetings. The G-20 brings together world’s largest 20 countries in terms of economy.
