Three locals were wounded after a mortar shell attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the southern province of Osmaniye in the late hours of Oct. 19, Doğan News Agency has reported.

PKK militants fired three mortar shells from three different points at two neighborhoods on the foothills of the Amanos Mountains in Osmaniye.

Mehtap Yücel, her 4-year-old son İhsan and an unidentified person wounded by shrapnel pieces were subsequently taken to hospital.

An operation was launched in order to apprehend the militants involved in the attack in a forested area in the Amanos Mountains.
