Three Turkish parties condemn Germany’s ‘Armenian genocide’ bill Three Turkish parties at parliament condemned a June 2 resolution at Germany’s Bundestag recognizing the World War I-era killings of Ottoman Armenians as “genocide.”

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) signed the joint declaration. The Kurdish issue-focused opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) did not join the statement.

“We strongly condemn the resolution that is based on groundless Armenian allegations. The resolution has no historical or legal validity,” read the joint statement.
