Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reiterated Turkey’s intention not to back down from any threat, saying those who test the country’s power will be put in their place.
“We are a state that ruthlessly fights against any manner of terror organization; we don’t shy away from putting rogue states and those that test Turkey’s greatness in their place,” he said during a ceremony introducing Turkey's first national aircraft, the Hürkuş.
At the same time, Turkey is not a threat to any nation's security, he said.
"The Turkish Army is one of the world's strongest armies," Erdoğan said. "We don't mean to attack anyone. We build to preserve the peace, to fight off threats against our safety and our unity."
"Great states have enemies," Erdoğan said. "Those who view these lowly attacks on our ships, planes and our flag as [a sign of our] weakness are those who lack great states."
The comments come less than a week after Syria downed a Turkish jet in the eastern Mediterranean, prompting Ankara to warn Damascus of reprisals if Syria violates any of Turkey’s frontiers.
The Hürkuş, a pilot trainer plane, will be used to conduct basic pilot training, instrument flying, navigation training, as well as weapons and formation training missions. The aircraft is expected to be exported as a civilian and military flight trainer aircraft.

Well said Prime Minister Erdogan, there is no need to go to war over this. A calm approach and the warning is by no means empty. The risk for widening this conflict to a point where it is out of control is high. It is only a matter of weeks and the Syrian people will unseat this dictator. Foreign intervention has failed in every modern conflict as we all know. And please Hamas is not a terrorist organization, they are legitimate Palestinian people fighting a heavily armed occupying force!

Rimon Tree, Turkiye isn't "friends" with Hamas any more than Russia or Scandinavian countries are. Who is "sending terrorists"? What countries where we have "no business"?

Oh please, enough with empty talk and threats. This government has failed miserably to protect our territory, soldiers, ships, planes and dignity.

Well, what a big speech! The esteemd PM is losing any measure:"We are a state that ruthlessly fights against any manner of terror organization.", that does not include your warm friends Hamas, whom everybody else considers as a terror organisation. He even sends terrorists to countries where you don't have any business. He isa threat to Turkeys own security and the laughter of the world.

Evidently a case of a Prime Minister speaking much too much. I don't know how this will help him, his party, the nation or the situation. Turkey "Shouting at this or that guy" every single day is neither good diplomacy or military strategy. It gets people bored.

Israel tested Turkish might, they don't seem to be having that many sleepless nights. Ironically, if you had a stronger friendship with Greece rather than flying over Greek islands uninvited, you would have practiced (like the israelies have) on their S300 and TOR M1 sites so that you don't get shot down every time.
