Tanita Tikaram in Istanbul
Efes Pilsen will be bringing Tanita Tikaram to Istanbul for a concert on April 19 at Ghetto. Tikaram is known for her hits “Twist in My Sobriety” and “Good Tradition.” Her music career started 25 years ago, when she began singing in bars and clubs. The German-born British pop folk singer and writer will be singing her Turkish audience songs from her new album, “Can’t Go Back,” which was released in September 2012. The first single, “Dust On My Shoes,” was released digitally the same year. Tikaram began recording her eighth studio album in 2010 in Los Angeles, California, and released two “teasers” from the album on her website in June 2011. She played some “acoustic sessions” in Europe from September to November 2011, her first tour in 10 years.
