A symposium on “Trade and Production in Ottoman Anatolia” will be held on Sept. 28 and 29 at VEKAM in Ankara.

The symposium is part of a three-year joint project between Koç University’s Vehbi Koç Ankara Studies Research Center and the Skilliter Center for Ottoman Studies at Newnham College in the University of Cambridge.

The project consists of three symposiums on three themes, “Disease and Disaster,” “Trade and Production” and “Social Life.”

The first symposium was held at Newnham College on March 18 and 19, 2016. The meeting in Ankara will be the second symposium in the three-part series.

The symposium will be in both English and Turkish and simultaneous translation will be available.
