Seven elementary school students were suspended from a private school in the capital Ankara's Çankaya district for causing injury to a stray dog, CNNTürk reported on its website.

Students from the private Pi school threw rocks and ice shards at a stray dog that the students named "King.”

The injured dog was taken to a veterinarian by the school administration while the students harming the dog were suspended for three days.

School principal Ahu Kılıç said the children apologized for their behavior and acknowledged that what they had done was wrong. She said the school wanted to raise individuals who respect animal rights.

The parents of the suspended children said they thought the school administration's decision was correct and warned their children to be more sensitive on such matters.

When Ahu states "the school wanted to raise individuals who respect animal rights" what would would be better stated the parents of these children should be disciplined at home and raised to respect animal rights. The school is not the parents.

What private school did was completely right course action which we can't do in public schools because of the pressure of the officials we receive from authorities and sadly enough,Teachers are discouraged to do what is right
