Special film screening at Greek Orthodox Halki seminary

Robert Savo’s ‘The Savior’ tells the story of Jesus Christ from his miraculous birth to his grueling death.

Halki Seminary on Istanbul’s island of Heybeliada will open its doors for a film screening for the first time. Within the scope of the Easter celebrations, Palestinian director Robert Savo’s new film “The Savior” will make its special screening in Turkey in the historic atmosphere of the seminary.

“The Savior,” which is based on the Gospel of Luke, tells the story of Jesus Christ from his miraculous birth, to his grueling death. The film is a message of peace for the whole world.

Savo made the film in 2013 using the latest shooting technologies; it reflects the circumstances of its era in a striking way. The film was shot in Jordan and Bulgaria and mostly features Jordanian Muslim actors.

Famous Jordanian composer Talal Abu Ragheb wrote the film’s music. Songs were performed by seven female vocals from Bulgaria’s public choir Philip Koutev and males from St. Romanus the Melodist choir.
The film screening will be held in the Ceremony hall at the Halki Seminary School on April 27 at 4 p.m.
