Some businessmen trying to move assets abroad: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has claimed that some businessmen in Turkey were trying to move their assets abroad.

“I’ve been getting some news and signals. I hear some businessmen are trying to move their assets abroad,” Erdoğan said on Dec. 3, without giving any names.

Erdoğan instructed Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci to stop those in efforts of moving their assets to other countries.

“I’m calling on my cabinet; you should never let any of them go out. Because this is betrayal to our country,” he said.

Erdoğan said they would not welcome those making money in Turkey and taking their revenues abroad.
