Six soldiers wounded in PKK rocket attack in Turkey’s southeast

At least six soldiers were wounded in a rocket attack carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) against a Turkish military base in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Dec. 28.

The PKK attacked the Zer Tepe and Kırmızıkaya military bases in the Çukurca district, the Hakkari Governor’s Office said in a statement.

The wounded soldiers were taken to the Hakkari State Hospital for treatment while an air-backed operation was launched to hunt down the militants, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
