Two young people were killed in a traffic accident in the southern province of Antalya on Dec. 20 when a pickup ran over them as they were taking a selfie on the road.

The pair were among five that had come from Alanya district to Antalya. The quintet parked a car they had rented and began to watch planes take off and land near Antalya Airport before lying down on the road and taking selfies while under the influence of alcohol.

At around 9 p.m., a pickup driven by Uğur Üstündağ ran over and killed Muhammet Bozkurt and Çağlar Savaşçı, while the other three managed to escape the accident.

An investigation into the incident is continuing.
