Sabancı named the most innovative university in Turkey

Sabancı named the most innovative university in Turkey The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBİTAK) has once again picked Sabancı University as the most innovative school in Turkey.  

The ranking of the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index 2015, which was prepared by the leadership of TUBITAK, was announced by Science, Industry and Technology Minister Faruk Özlü during an Aug. 22 ceremony in Ankara.

The private university has been ranked first or second since 2012, when the index was launched, said Sabancı Rector Nihat Berker.

Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ), Bilkent, Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and Boğaziçi University followed Sabancı in the top five. 

“We have big confidence in terms of developing the spirit of entrepreneurship and the culture of innovation,” said Özlü at the ceremony. “We aim at more cooperation between the universities and our industrialists.” 

Scientific and technological research ability, the pool of intellectual rights, cooperation and interaction, the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation and contribution to the economy are the five criteria of the index.
