Around 100 right-wing demonstrators, lead by the Belgium People's Party, have gathered in Brussels to protest against Islamic group Sharia4Belgium, private broadcaster NTV reported today.

The latest clashes between police and organization members follow the government's recent ban on clothes covering the face in the country.

The protesters chanted slogans such as: "Non-integrated Muslims out," and "No to Islamic facism."

"Some of them demand seperate hours for men and women in swimming pools, while others does not attend history or gymnastics classes," Belgium People's Party leader Mischael Modrikamen said.

"People who came to Belgium should accept our values ... Those who do not respect this country's values should be deported."

Modrikamen also condemned the politician who accepted the first woman with a religious headscarf into the Belgian Parliament.

"The fear should come over," he said. "Islamists should be afraid of us now."

Sharia4Belgium is a group demanding sharia law, which is organized in many other Europen countries in groups such as Sharia4UK, Sharia4France, Sharia4Spain, and Sharia4Holland.

I'm not familiar with the Belgium People's Party so I don't know how far right or fascist they are. 'Non-integrated Muslims out' does sound overtly xenophobic but 'No to Islamic fascism' or repudiation of Sharia sounds like a reasonable request to me.

in my view foreigners especially muslim communtiy should try to integrate in the country they are living.they could preserve their culture and religion but not resort to extreme ways.i came across some vids about far right groups and radical muslims in Luton.if i didnt know it was an english town, i would think it was a small karachi or islamabad. there was women in burkas and bearded men.these kinds of insular people are a disgrace to the religion aswell. they should integrate or be deported.

Do a hundred or so protesters really represent the whole of Belgium ? I don't think there is any reason to believe a far right nationalist organization represents a whole nation ?

@ mistique You are right basicly, but the problem is that it is the right wing party who demands it, that whats worrying. Not only the Islamists should be afraid of them, we all should, because the law they would want to introduce coming to power could be as frightening as Sharia is for us. We have experienced it, haven't we?

Like all right wing groups these should be banned also. They DO want Sharia @Red Tail and they want a Sharia court aswell. They are very extreme like right wing nazi's were/are and they don't have a place in the world. They should respect the laws of the countries they live in instead of that we Europeans should live by their laws. Turkey does not follow the sharia law and I find that very respectfull. These extremists give all Muslims a very bad reputation and Islamic countries should ban them.

I do not find their demands very extreme. They do not want to have sharia and they want foreigners to respect the local values and traditions. If we ask people in Turkey, almost all of us would also say that we do not want to have sharia and we do want immigrants to adjust. I think Turkey should try to calm down the Islamists going to Europe. The really give all Muslims a really bad name.
