Reforming UN has become an inevitable necessity: Turkish PM
BAKU, Azerbaijan - Anadolu Agency
Speaking in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, Yıldırım said reforming the U.N. for it to focus on solving problems, not rivalries, has become “an inevitable necessity.”
“The U.N. Security Council is unable to give the necessary response to [international] rivalries. Humanity is dying and chemical weapons are being used, but the U.N. is unable to end this violence,” he added.
Before his opening remarks at the Sixth Global Baku Forum, Yıldırım on March 14 arrived in the country and held a number of bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani officials.
This year’s forum, organized by the Baku-based Nizami Ganjavi International Center, focuses on the theme “Bridging Gaps to create Inclusive Societies.”
