A media limitation, decided by a local prosecutor, has been introduced by the regulatory board of Turkish broadcasters, the Supreme Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK), regarding the blasts in the southern province of Hatay’s Reyhanlı district.

Following the demand of the Reyhanlı public prosecutor, a written statement from RTÜK declared that the Reyhanlı Court of Peace had ruled that all kinds of voice, written and visual publications about the scenes of incidents after the blasts were banned, including content and images of the injured and the dead.

45 people killed yesterday in Reyhanli, which is in Turkey where Turkish citizens live. I was shocked with the weak coverage of the event in Turkish media. Besiktas' last match in the Inonu Stadium had almost more coverage than this event. I am afraid we are loosing our souls as a Nation. I know that the government does not want these killings to be ignored to cover their incompetence.
