Presidential hopeful İnce: Erdoğan is too tired to solve Turkey’s problems

Muharrem İnce, the presidential candidate of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), has said Turkey faces “serious economic problems” due to the government, adding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is “too tired” to solve them.
“They say he is a world leader. What world leader? Go abroad and see [for yourself]. This tired man cannot solve these big problems,” İnce said in a speech delivered at a rally in the southern province of Kütahya on June 7.
“Don’t expect any solution for this country from this man. My brothers and sisters who support the ruling Justice and Development Party [AKP], you are tired. This nation is tired. Let fresh blood solve these problems,” he added.
İnce continued his presidential campaign with rallies in Kütahya, Isparta and Burdur on June 7.
He said Turkey is facing economic problems and the future solution for these problems will not cause further difficulties for the poor.
“In my presidency it will not be citizens that have to tighten their belts, it will be the state that tightens its belt,” İnce added.
“He spent $2 billion on building a palace in Ankara. I said I will collapse that palace on your head. What I meant was vanity. Why would I demolish the palace? I will demolish the culture and the understanding in the palace,” he said.
“Now he is building another new one in Marmaris. I vow to give this new palace as a gift to our disabled citizens,” he said.
He also criticized Erdoğan for representing a “repressive” culture, vowing to “bring peace” in its place.
“That is the difference between me and Erdoğan. You will not see me on every station every time you turn on the TV. I will not scold the people from the squares or talk trash. The difference between Erdoğan and me is that when I’m president there will be no ‘me’ and ‘you,’ there will be us,” İnce added.
