President Abdullah Gül will ask the Jordanian administration to cooperate on the arrest of Hakan Uzan, who was active in various branches of business, from banking to media.

Interpol has already issued a search warrant for Uzan due to a fraud conviction.

Uzan has a Jordanian passport and is reportedly to be living there. He met with Jordanian King Abdullah last month in the United Kingdom.

“We have some information related to this issue. We will convey it as it is required,” Gül told reporters Tuesday, ahead of his three-day-visit to Amman.

Uzan has been barred from international travel because he is a suspect, along with 33 others, facing charges of “establishing an organization and being a member of it with the intent to commit a crime,” as well as embezzlement, fraud and fraud against the state.

The other suspects include his father, Kemal Uzan, siblings Cem Uzan and Ayşegül Uzan Akay and uncles Yavuz and Bahattin Uzan.
