Turkish President Abdullah Gül has been ranked among the most influential world diplomatic actors on Twitter.

According to an e-diplomacy hub developed by Agence France-Presse to analyze and measure the presence and clout of diplomatic actors on Twitter around the world, President Abdullah Gül, who has more than 2.3 million followers, was ranked eighth among the most influential diplomatic tweeters.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was in 12th place on the list. Turkish European Union Minister Egemen Bağış was at number 78, and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu was 87th.

U.S. President Barack Obama topped the list, with Bill Gates in second place and the Dalai Lama in third.
A number of Turkish journalists also appeared on the list, including Cüneyt Özdemir at number 41, Mehmet Ali Birand (48), and writer Elif Şafak (46).
