Portishead in Istanbul for the first time

British trio Portishead will take the stage at Istanbul’s Küçükçiflik Park on Aug 20 during the Midtown Fest.

Legendary British band Portishead will perform their first ever concert in Turkey as part of the Midtown Fest at Istanbul’s Küçükçiftlik Park on Aug. 20.

Portishead, formed in 1991 in Bristol, gained a huge success with the release of their first album “Dummy” in 1994, winning the Mercury Music Prize in 1995 and being nominated for Best British Newcomer at the 1995 Brit Awards.

The band, consisting of singer Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley, released its second album “Portishead” in 1997 and “Third” in 2008.

Portishead recently re-released its iconic 1994 debut album “Dummy” to mark its 20th anniversary.

Along with Portishead, London-based rock band Savages, English band Thought Forms and Turkish groups The Ringo Jets, The Away Days and Telepotik will also take part of the festival.

Tickets for the concert are available at Biletix.
